Schoorsteen verwijderen - tussenwoning met plat dak

Hello, sorry for the english :) maybe somebody can help here. The house was built in 1962, its a tussenwoning met plat dak. We only want to remove the bricks inside, so the room can have a straight wall, with a nice corner. Is it possible just to remove that part, or the chimney will not hold itself? There is a fireplace in the living room under it, but we will remove that too.

First, you have to check if there's a asbestos tube inside. Than check if the top chimney is supported (f.i. by a concrete lintel). Best thing to do is to remove the outside chimney as well. It's a big leak for warmth.
