Moving gas and electrcity meter from Liander

I have a gas meter that I would like to move 60cm and a electricty meter 30cm.

I called a company which estimated this to be less than 4 hours of work, so I guess around €300. They informed me though I need to contact Liander for approval.

I messaged Liander and they informed me its not allowed to hire a private company and they are offering this service for a fixed cost, €870 for the gas meter and €906 for the electricty.

This is quite the difference!

I'm wondering if anyone has experience/guidance for me using a private company to move the meters? Or is the only thing I can do is to accept a 500% markup price from Liander?

Liander owns the network including the wiring/piping into your house and including the meters.

Moving the meters is only allowed to be done by them.

So, indeed you need to ask Liander to move the meters against their tariff.

The meters and incoming lined are owned by Liander.

Its is not allowed for an private company tot touch those components.
Ther are seals in place to prevent unauthorised tampering.

The Price is so high because the mains need tot be replaced from outside tot the meter, Same fit the gasline.

If you remove seals youre in real Trouble.

That's what happens when a monopolist decides it's prices.

For the 906,- one the mains are probably not replaced.

Lianders often hires private companies (contractors) to do the work..

Hi - Really helpful to read this and fully accept Liander's role here. We have a little "catch-22" in our case and could use some advice.

Our situation is this: Our meters are currently accessed through a closet in our living room. We want to rotate our meters 180 degrees and raise them so they can be accessed from a closet in the stairwell. The closet is to be built.

We've done everything correctly so far via mijnaansluiting.nl including uploading photos and drawings. Liander gave us the name of an approved contractor, but the guy won't come by until the new closet is ready. The catch-22: cutting a whole in the wall in the stairwell to make the closet would potentially disrupt the existing meter kast structure. So we cannot prepare the space without the contractor.

My Dutch husband is at the end of this rope and my Dutch isn't good enough yet to explain it! It should be possible to do it given the proper design, materials, ingenuity. And I am ready to pay the cost to get it right.

Advice?

Photos and drawings uploaded. I should add that on the stairwell side, we can remove the handrail and have a 200cm high access panel. Liander's contractor explained the dimensions needed and these can be met overall.

Sorry I don't see how to change this the easy way as it is not possible to move the main supply without disconcting it from main supply and the only company that can do that is the netoperator.

So..,..
Netoperator needs to remove the meters and gasline.

You make the new closet and backboard.

Elektrician/ gastec. Replace the fuse ox and gasconnection.

Netoperator replaces their meters and connections.

Means you wil be whitout power and gas for a few days.
